The YouTube Brandcast took place on May 17 and gave fans an insight into what the platform is up for next. One of the most exciting elements of this event was that it took place alongside the same week as the Upfront. Upfronts are events where the stars of television programming reveal their new content slates.

On YouTube’s Brandcast, which is a presentation for the brands, advertisers, and agencies, the company emphasizes the popular creators of the platform. They understood the gross amount of influence they scale across the internet. Streamers like MrBeast were present at this event as well. YouTube Brandcast generally occurs during Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB)’s digital media-focused NewFronts at the start of May. However, this year, this event took place alongside Upfronts at the Imperial Theater in New York. Upfronts are when the top TV programmers come together to reveal content slates.

The primary focus for this year was on the creators of YouTube. While the fans expected new Originals programming to be revealed, YouTube emphasized the role of content creators, YouTube Shorts, and live shopping highly. They greatly valued and praised the works of individual creators like MrBeast, Marques Brownlee, and Patrick Starr at the event.

On this occasion, Jimmy handed out hundreds of MrBeast-branded chocolate bars to the audience. “I thought it would be a good idea to give you everyone chocolate bars,”  he explained. He also stated that the #TeamSeas cleaning effort, which he co-founded with YouTuber Mark Rober (above right), has surpassed its original target of removing 32.5 million pounds of garbage from water bodies.
