MrBeast refutes claims of violating actors’ strike

The SAG-AFTRA strike is a movement in the United States of America where actors and radio artists campaigned for better working conditions, equitable income, as well as improved benefits for members of the organization. As part of the movement, actors did not promote movies in order to support the strike.

Reports emerged about MrBeast promoting his role in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. He posted a story asking people to view the movie. As a result, people believed reports stating he violated the actors’ strike. MrBeast was quick to respond to claims, making it very clear the only reason he promoted the movies was due to contractual obligations. As part of the contract signed with the film, he was obliged to promote it on social media. Moreover, this contract was signed before the protest began. This means it was unrelated to the actors’ strike.

Moreover, MrBeast explained by signing the contract, he had a legal obligation to promote the movie. Additionally, since it was a legal obligation, it fell under a list of exceptions given by the SAG-AFTRA agreements that clearly indicate his actions did not violate their strike in any way.

In order to reaffirm his support towards actors, MrBeast made a promise in the same tweet. MrBeast promised to donate money later in the day for the strike. He said he would do so regardless of whether the decision to promote the movie violated the actors’ strike. While the YouTuber confirmed his support towards the SAG-AFTRA strikes through the donation, there was no update about how much was given to the group.

As for MrBeast, he continues to work on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before its release. It will be his first involvement in a film, and his fans cannot wait to watch it!
