With 189 million subscribers, Jimmy Donaldson, aka MrBeast, is right now the king of YouTube. But there is a piece that is still missing from his prestigious crown. Despite holding the record for the most views for an individual YouTuber, he has yet to reach the 1 billion mark in a single video. However, as things stand, he might overcome that hurdle pretty soon.

The 4 time creator of the year winner has his own perspective on which video will collect this accolade. Meanwhile, another video of him is in 5th gear, seemingly heading towards this milestone, and thus MrBeast could be proven wrong.

In an 8-month-old episode of the Lex Fridman Podcast, Jimmy was asked if he could ever make a video that would reach the 1 billion mark. In reply, he stated that he might have made one video already, which, in his eyes, could easily break the 1 billion barrier. Unfortunately, there is no prize for guessing which video. It was the famous video of the game show adapted from the highly popular TV series Squid Games that Beast mentioned in the podcast.

However, this answer from Jimmy was quite expected and logical, too. For this 25-minute video, Beast spent over $3.5 million. And right now, this game show video has already reached over half a billion views in just almost 2 years. Also, this video garnered 100 million views in just 4 days, which is the fastest for a non-music video. At the time of that podcast, the video had already reached 300 million views. This is why the Squid Games video came to MrBeast’s mind.

There is another name MrBeast could have thought of for reaching the 1 billion milestone, and that is the Extreme Olympics. According to the man himself, this is the biggest video of his career. Also, he spent a whopping $4 million on this video, which broke the record for Squid Game.

MrBeast could be wrong

Although he has stated his favorites for this incredible milestone, another video of his might prove him wrong pretty soon. In December 2022, Beast uploaded a video asking people to fly to Paris for $100 for a baguette. Upon gettign rejected by many people, the offered amount increased by three times. That’s when a random person accepted the offer for $300.

The man packed up his suitcase and got ready for his flight all the way to Paris. The person went to a local shop, fetched 12 baguettes, and came back to America. At point, the person even let out a war cry – “MrBeast is hungry.” After returning, he went straight to Beast with 12 Baguettes. However, MrBeast just needed one. As promised, MrBeast rewarded the person.
