The ongoing year has been a moving year for the YouTube King MrBeast. The creator has excelled in everything he has tried in recent times. Of course, this golden run is attributed to the hard work MrBeast and his team have put in to take the standards of ‘MrBeast as a brand’ higher. This includes his ventures in philanthropy and the candy business. However, the latest event has brought an alarming concern for the young candy brand.

The epitome of MrBeast’s dominance has been his recent success with Feastables. The candy brand has registered exceptional sales numbers, especially in the past few months. Moreover, a lot of candy industry giants are worried about the current rate of Feastables’ expansion. Amidst the rising popularity of the brand, a Feastables product is set to face some legal troubles.

The YouTuber has been subjected to a legal notice for using the name of Deez Nutz. One of the Feastables bars called ‘Deez Nutz’ is a peanut-flavored milk chocolate. This particular bar has been a major contributor to the sales spike of the brand. However, the name used for the product is now under scrutiny. According to the plaintiff, the name has allegedly been stolen from their existing products, going by the name of ‘Dee’s Nuts’.

Brian Ditore, the founder of Dee’s Nuts, has filed a lawsuit against MrBeast. The plaintiff believes that the names Deez Nutz and Dee’s Nuts have a glaring similarity that might cost the branding of their flavored peanuts. Ditore claims to have registered a trademark for “Dee’s Nuts” in 2012, only to discover in February of this year that Feastables had been using a product name that is uncannily similar to his own.

Ditore’s lawsuit claims that because the company disregarded a cease-and-desist notice it delivered to them, his brand suffered “irreparable harm” due to consumer confusion. Dee’s Nuts is being sold through more than ten thousand wholesale distributors in 34 states, although it is a considerably smaller business than anything MrBeast is associated with. The lawsuit suggests that the business “has neither the online reach nor the resources necessary to counter the confusion being wrought by Defendant Feastables, Inc. and James Stephen Donaldson in their use of the DEEZ NUTZ mark.”

The case has reached the court and a legal proceeding will be taking place for the resolution of the matter. There has been no official response by the YouTuber on the allegation yet. Fans are looking forward to any clarification from the Feastables’ side. Seems like we’ll have to wait until the next course of action. The next chapter’s fate for the whole branding fiasco is now onto the judge.
