A Squid Game-based reality show is finally on its way to Netflix. While the first season of the show was a smash hit, the recent announcement has failed to stir the expected hype among fans. After the reveal, many fans on social media believe that Netflix is just a couple of years later than MrBeast. The YouTuber is known for extravagant videos, often with larger-than-life settings. MrBeast’s chocolate factory (Willie Wonka style!) awed fans with its elaborate setup. Now, fans believe Netflix has yet again been trumped by the popular YouTuber.
MrBeast is known for some pretty over-the-top content. His Squid Game video was incredibly popular and even led fans to compare it with the actual Netflix show. Now, fans seem to be still in doubt if the new season will be able to rise above MrBeast’s version of the Squid Game challenge.

With a recent post on X, formerly Twitter, Netflix announced that the new reality show will arrive on November 22. The Squid Game-inspired reality show will also have the biggest cash prize in reality show history. The first season was incredibly popular and sparked off thousands of spin-offs across social media. The deadly set of obstacles that 456 contestants had to face to win around $34 million caught the attention of viewers worldwide. Many streamers scurried to recreate the challenges in their own way. Among them, MrBeast probably came up with the most accurate reenactment of the games.

Since then, MrBeast’s Squid Game has become sort of iconic among the streaming community and a perfect example of how far content creators can go to make their visions a reality.

MrBeast released his version of the Squid Game challenges in 2022. And now, as Netflix looks to finally air the much-awaited reality show, fans can’t help but believe that they shouldn’t have had to wait for so long for a sequel.
Fans react to the announcement on social media
Since the post was shared by Netflix, fans have come together to speak their mind on the matter. This fan here is a little skeptical as to whether the producers have thought this through or not. With the premise of the Squid Game being fatal for all participants except the winner, the prospects of such a thing in real life can get daunting.

This lad thinks Netflix has got nothing on MrBeast. If a single content creator can pull off one such show in weeks, Netflix should also do better.
