Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson has quickly risen the ranks of YouTube to become one of the most popular creators. He has become the internet’s one-stop-shop for ludicrous stunts and colossal giveaways. Significantly, Jimmy’s popularity has led to his main channel amassing 91.9 million followers. And that number doesn’t even include the legions of followers that populate the subscriber count of his many side channels.
One of these channels is MrBeast Gaming. Fans may have noticed that while he has tried his hands as titles like Minecraft and Among Us, VR games have eluded his focus. And there’s an intriguing reason for that.

MrBeast cannot stomach Virtual Reality games
Donaldson recently appeared on ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ episode #1788. The episode saw himself and Rogan engage on exciting topics like his financial acumen and even the life-threatening illness he suffers from. But the duo also engaged with the interesting topic of virtual reality games. It started with a general discussion of the merits of virtual reality tech.
With Joe suggesting that given enough technological advancement, fans could take part in MrBeast’s ventures virtually. And the YouTube maestro agreed, claiming it was only a matter of how good the technology gets and how widely it is adopted. He even revealed his go-to VR game.
“Literally all I play with my Rift is just Beat Saber.”

However, the conversation took an interesting turn when MrBeast revealed why he can only play very specific VR games. Significantly, Joe was showcasing an Iron Man VR title, which involved flying as the Marvel character. Jimmy interjected, saying, “Any game like this, where you move in-game, but you’re not moving in real life, gives me severe motion sickness. And I feel like it does for a lot of other people I know as well.“
It is important that he mentioned this happens in games where the player character is moving, but not the player. This manifests in him feeling like throwing up, or “Just gives me like a giant headache.“
