Former contestant and teammate spills beans on MrBeast videos 

In a “Do the contestants really win these big money prizes?” Reddit discussion, a user’s comments garnered community attention. According to the user’s claim, they were a contestant in MrBeast’s ‘Boys vs Girls $500,000 Challenge Video’. They also worked with the creative team for plenty of other videos under the channel, making them quite a credible source for BTS.

“I was in boys vs girls, boys lost. Every guy got $500 I got $1k for some reason. I’ve spoke to the girls they all got $5k,” they wrote.

“We filled out a google form and most of us went through a casting process, I was lucky and was an alternate who skipped the interviews and made the video, got a fair share of my own screen time too,” they added. The user also revealed that the prize money claimed in the videos is actually won by the announced winners of the videos. 

Regardless, what’s noteworthy here is that MrBeast spends unimaginable amounts for his videos. Be it production, donating through his philanthropic work, paying contestants, or challenge winners. So how does he profit from his work despite spending so much?

Feastables is the key to MrBeast’s profits 

He’s the not biggest YouTuber for nothing! The most common fan theory suggests most of Jimmy’s profits are accounted for by his collaborations, merchandise, and business ventures.

For instance, the growth of Feastables as a candy brand has been the success story of any influencer’s business model in recent years. In fact, the creator himself in an Instagram story had attributed Feastables’ sales to be his biggest financial support. “Feastables is mostly how I afford my videos now”, the story read.
