If there’s one major thing fans don’t like in Call of Duty Modern Warfare II, it’s the movement. Ever since the title was released, it has faced constant backlash over unnecessary changes that have significantly affected the mechanics. Especially when it comes to the player movement in Multiplayer games. However, it looks like the ongoing installment’s biggest problem will be rectified with Modern Warfare III.
Sledgehammer Games is heavily focused on improving player movement. In fact, they have assured the fans that 2023’s premium will feel even better than it looks in promotional clips in terms of the overhaul made regarding the movement mechanics.

It is already known that the upcoming entry will feature 16 remastered maps from 2009’s Modern Warfare 2. Along with the new maps coming later, post launch, they will basically add more content for the players. Recently, leading studio Sledgehammer took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to post a video about the process of remaking some the beloved maps from original MW2.
While teasing the experience from all the remastered maps, the studio also showed how the movement will play out in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III. In certain brief sequences, one can clearly notice a slight difference in its pacing compared to the current game.

Certain fans also discovered this change in the aforementioned clip. One of them even appreciated Sledgehammer’s team for increasing the overall speed. Surprisingly, the studio replied to them by mentioning that MWIII is going to be a completely unique experience, especially considering the pacing of movement.

In simple words, the franchise will return to its roots this year, featuring the classic movement system. Not to mention that the much-needed update will only make the fans even more eager for MWIII.
As for the remastered maps, these are the ones returning from 2009’s Modern Warfare 2: Estate, Favela, Afghan, Derail, Highrise, Invasion, Karachi, Quarry, Rundown, Rust, Scrapyard, Skidrow, Sub Base, Terminal, Underpass, and Wasteland.
When is Modern Warfare III releasing?
Activision has already confirmed that the new FPS title will come out on November 10, 2023. Before its debut, however, it will witness the COD Next in early October. Creators from around the globe will get special access to MWIII in this event. After that, the Open Beta phase will begin, giving the fans a golden chance to try the limited build of MWIII. Below is the list of schedule for the Beta Weekends:

- First Beta weekend (PS4/PS5): October 6 to October 10
- Second Beta weekend (PS4/PS5/Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S/PC): October 12 to October 16

With all the updates, especially improved movement, players are surely all geared up and ready for MWIII.
