NetherRealm Studios, the developer of this upcoming title, has launched the closed Beta version of the game. This beta version will run from August 18 (at 10 a.m. CDT) to August 21 (at 10 a.m. CDT) 2023 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S only. Although a separate beta version for Windows PCs has yet to be announced,

Although this Beta version will be available to those players who have already pre-ordered the game, for PlayStation users, you also need to have a PlayStation Plus Subscription. And for Xbox users, you need to have a Live Gold Membership too.

For those who have made physical and digital pre-orders through retailers, beta codes will be given to each one of them. They can redeem these codes with a Warner Bros. Games Account on their consoles until the end of the Pre-Order Beta period.

All you need to do is register for a new account or login to the existing one for the Warner Bros. Games account and go to the Playtests section. Then enter the code and select the platform you are going to play on. At last, Link your Warner Bros. account with your PlayStation or Xbox account. By doing this, you can redeem the actual beta version from the PS Store or Xbox Marketplace. Now, you are good to go.

Features of this Beta Version

You need to download around 12.705 GB for the Mortal Kombat 1 Beta. Also, during the beta period, you can’t go cross-platform. That means you will be fighting your opponents on the same console, which you are into.

This beta version of Mortal Kombat 1 will feature a unique roster of six characters: Liu Kang, Sub-Zero, Kenshi, Kitana, Johnny Cage, and Li Mei. Also, it will feature Kameo characters like Kano, Sonya, Jax, and Frost. You can bring in these Kameo fighters as extra fighters during an actual fight to help out the main fighter. Talking about game modes, this beta will have the usual 1v1 online multiplayer mode. Also, players can enjoy a limited mode called the Klassic Tower mode. This is a ladder-type fighting scenario where you will be fighting AI opponents one after another.
