On top of being unhappy with the shortage of consoles, Sony added more misery as they raised the prices of the PlayStation 5, which didn’t impress the fans. However, that wasn’t the end of it. Sony finally revealed the release date and price for PlayStation VR2, and as expected, the fans are not happy with the price tag on it.

Over nine months ago, the Japanese video game giants announce the VR2, and the final product was showcased a month ago. But now they have revealed that the PlayStation VR2 is set to release on February 22, 2023. So, fans might have to wait for a while before getting their hands on this gaming equipment.

But that’s not the end of Sony’s announcement about the PlayStation VR2. They also revealed that this new generation virtual reality headset would cost a preposterous $550 and that the fans would be able to pre-order the new VR headset starting November 15.

Also, Sony will release the PlayStation VR2 Sense controller charging station on the same date as the virtual reality headset. Moreover, these charging stations are built especially to charge the VR2, for which the fans will have to cash out another $50.

A piece of equipment without a game is basically pointless, so with this VR headset, players would also get to buy the upcoming VR2-exclusive video game, Horizon Call of the Mountain. This game would be available with the VR2 as a bundle which will cost $600.

The VR2 pricing has already unsettled the fans

Fans are already unimpressed to know the prices of the VR2. They are complaining that the headset costs more than the current PS5 console. Moreover, they also raised questions about this VR headset not featuring any backward compatibility. Let’s look at some of the fan’s reactions.
