Nintendo might be a fan favorite company across the globe, but it can’t be true for everyone. Especially when it’s related to those who have already worked with the developer and publisher. A recent interaction with a former employee has revealed something just like that, mainly speaking about the Nintendo Switch Online service.
While sharing his opinion about what Nintendo is doing right now with the Switch Online, he also brought in an interesting comparison with Sega.

The former Minute co-host Kit shared his thoughts on the company’s ongoing strategy of still constantly offering old games to the players. Kit now runs a weekly podcast with Krysta.
While criticizing the company’s approach, he said that Nintendo seems to have no actual plan of what to do right now. Because they are just churning out classic titles on the Switch Online service. Which is quite weird and not very impressive, according to Kit.
He did acknowledge that the NES and SNES additions to the platform were quite good. But everything after that has been a complete mess and mostly disappointing.

Out of frustration, he even said that he has more confidence in Sega with its offering for Genesis than other platforms (in this case Nintendo). Simply because the latter has no real perks to offer the fans, except for the older games.
“I get worried about where they added Nintendo 64 and Genesis – it’s like what is the plan? I almost have more confidence in Sega to deliver their best Genesis stuff, than I do with the other platforms.”

Moreover, Kit also mentioned that Nintendo needs to be more transparent about its future roadmap for the Switch Online.
“I think that would help a lot if they were just a bit more transparent about what the plan is for each of these tiers.”
What’s your take on Kit’s views on the online service by Nintendo? Do you agree with what he said about its current state and availability of games?
