Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Zombies has unleashed many elements in the action franchise. Players who have completed all three Acts know what the future can bring in terms of the lore. Interestingly, there happens to be a highly mysterious character MWZ has introduced ahead of Season 1. And it seems like the game will keep this character in focus going forward.

Those who have finished Act 1, Act 2, and Act 3 of Modern Warfare Zombies are aware of Dr. Ava Jansen. She’s the most recent debutant in the COD universe. She made her first appearance in the Dark Aether Zombies storyline of the ongoing game. But there’s more to this character which is yet to be explored. Now, a new leak has revealed that Season 1 will try to do exactly that by unleashing more aspects of Dr. Jansen.

Who is Dr. Ava Jansen in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Zombies

Featured in the open-world Zombies mode of Modern Warfare 3, Dr. Ava Jansen is a physicist who specializes in Aetherium-based studies. The cutscenes after the several missions revealed that she used to work for Viktor Zakhaev. However, after knowing that she was involved with something evil, Dr. Jansen decided to join the team of Operation Deadbolt. She’s now working with the group to stop Terminus Outcomes’ plans.

Although there’s very little known of her past, Ava Jansen told Operation Deadbolt’s members that her parents were ex-National Intelligence. Going by the cut scenes and the story focusing on her actions in order to support Operation Deadbolt, it seems Jansen’s past might be a crucial thread to connect various things in the future.

Dr. Ava Jansen might have a larger role in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Zombies, starting with Season 1

A scooper took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a key update on Dr. Ava Jansen. The insider mentioned that Season 1 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Zombies will include a quest relating to her.

In the quest, players will have to collect items relating to Dr. Jansen. Now, what makes the situation interesting are the names of these items. These are called “Child”, “Teen”, and “Adult”. Simply put, the leak suggests that the storyline will focus on revealing the early life of Ava and her experiences connecting to the Dark Aether plot.

At the end of Act 3 mission, it was shown that Ava fainted after activating the Neutralizer to stop Viktor Zakhaev. The Neutralizer had disabled Zakhaev’s vial that he was planning to use. However, a Dark Aether Vortex then appeared, sucking up all the things. It lifted up Jansen in the air and then she saw a figure who asked her to “let us in.”

Shortly after that, Jansen screamed while fainting once again and floating back to the ground. When Captain Ravenov checked her, he saw that her eyes were glowing in dark purple.

Maybe that’s an indication of what’s to come in Season 1, as far as Jansen’s relation to the bigger zombies universe is concerned. For now, players will have to wait for the major update in order to find out everything.
