The Pokemon series really began its journey on a high note this year. Firstly, there was the massive debut of Pokemon Legends Arceus in January. And last month gave Nintendo fans a big surprise as a brand new game for 2022, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, was revealed.
While the excitement among the hardcore lovers of the franchise might be peaking, there seems to be an issue already rearing its head. The issue is regarding the upcoming Pokemon Scarlet and Violet title itself. Which may end up dividing the players of Nintendo Switch upon its launch.

Will Nintendo’s Pokemon Scarlet and Violet turn out to be a huge setback for the series?
At the moment, it’s already known that Scarlet and Violet will be the next big offering in the beloved gaming saga. Game Freak is the developer of the project, which was already revealed in its first trailer last month. The Pokémon Company and Nintendo are its publishers.
Recently, gaming YouTuber Zach published a video on his channel SwitchForce. In it, he talked about how Pokemon Scarlet and Violet might be a step back from Nintendo’s Arceus in terms of gameplay mechanics.
In case you all missed it, there is an official description of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet on its main website. And while offering little in the way of information, it specifically mentions that the game will include “battling against wild Pokémon in order to catch them.”
Now, according to Zach, this may be a setback for some Nintendo Switch players who have become habituated to Pokemon Legends: Arceus‘ style. Because it includes just throwing the ball and catching the Pokemon without always having to fight them.

However, Scarlet and Violet will offer an experience where you will need to engage in a battle first. That will be a necessary requirement in order to catch a Pokemon.
And that’s what may cause some players to not like the new game since it will go back to the classic way of hunting and capturing a Pokemon.
