Valve has reportedly fixed the annoying issue that most owners of the Steam Deck were facing recently, following their purchase of the latest handheld gaming PC.

In one of the latest reports, it’s mentioned that the problem of drift is now resolved with the Steam Deck. After implementing a software update, there should be no more cases regarding this issue. It has been informed by the people working at Valve themselves, as reported by VGC.

Steam Deck gets a quick ‘drift fix’

Going by the report from VGC, Valve immediately acknowledged the un-ideal situation. And hours after many users revealed the problem of drift, the company released a software patch to offer a solution.

Lawrence Yang, who’s a designer at Valve, mentioned on his Twitter account that the issue was due to a “deadzone regression.” He urged the users to update their Steam Deck devices as soon as possible so they can have the issues fixed entirely.

Moreover, a user on Reddit, who had initially reported the problem of stick drift, also confirmed that there’s no problem now on their Steam Deck. Have a look at the comment below:

Well, if that’s the case for everyone else as well, it’s a huge reason to celebrate. Especially for the Steam Deck makers at Valve because of how quickly they addressed the issue. Plus, there is a chance this could cause some frustration to spread across the community of Nintendo Switch.
