Following the official announcement yesterday, the gaming community went into a frenzy as the news came as a major surprise for everyone in the industry. This led to many speculations as to how things would proceed further with respect to titles as well as the competition with the rivals.

According to a well-respected insider, Tom Henderson, Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard resulted in Sony’s valuation plummeting by billions of dollars within 24 hours of the announcement.

To give readers an accurate figure of the numbers, Sony’s valuation saw a drop of $20 billion USD, which is close to 13% of their total share.

However, the latter and its standalone interactive companies, Blizzard Entertainment and King, will continue to work as an independent firm (under Activision Blizzard) until the transaction has been completed.
