Earlier this year, Microsoft announced one of the most shocking tech acquisitions involving the video gaming giant, Activision-Blizzard. Since then, both companies have been under tight scrutiny. Moreover, Microsoft and Activision want the deal to go through as soon as possible, causing third parties to raise eyebrows.
In an instance of a roadblock, the acquisition reportedly received a negative from Sony. A May filing from the Brazilian Commerce Commission proved the same, as it came to light very recently. As an opinion, Sony tried to shed light on how the acquisition may lead to Microsoft leveraging an Xbox exclusivity on one of the most successful video game franchises. For now, Call of Duty is available on all major platforms, including PlayStation consoles.

Microsoft says Activision doesn’t create must-have games
Trying to defend its motive, Microsoft had insisted that Activision-Blizzard doesn’t make must-have video games. This led to many fans questioning Microsoft’s keen interest to acquire a company, which doesn’t produce “must-have” games, in a $69 Billion buyout!
In a filing to New Zealand Commerce Commission from June, the tech company had said, “specifically, with respect to Activision Blizzard video games, there is nothing unique about the video games developed and published by Activision Blizzard that is a “must have” for rival PC and console video game distributors that could give rise to a foreclosure concern.”
