The Xbox maker really wants the Call of Duty franchise and now it has begun running newspaper ads for proving its commitment to the gaming world.

Microsoft’s efforts to acquire Call of Duty publisher Activision are not slowing down. In fact, they have now increased further in the last few weeks. Not to mention that the ongoing situation has seemingly sent Sony into a panic mode, to say the least. And the latest move by Microsoft will only add to the PlayStation giant’s growing misery.

Going by the recent reports, the Xbox maker has escalated its campaign to get Activision’s flagship Call of Duty IP at any cost. It has now become quite apparent after Microsoft was seen running newspaper ads for its ambitious acquisition.

Microsoft runs full-page ads to show its Call of Duty commitment to gamers across the globe

No one can deny the fact that the battle between Sony and Microsoft has reached an extreme level now. A lot of things have been revealed publicly in the past few months. It is quite evident that one party is desperate to seal the deal while the other is totally against it. Just recently, the EVP of Activision revealed how badly SIE’s CEO wants the $68.7 billion deal to get canceled.

And now, Microsoft has come up with its own response in the form of big newspaper advertisements for Call of Duty. The company is now running full-page ads, in The Financial Times and the Daily Mail, for showing its commitment to the COD series on all platforms. In the ads, Microsoft has clearly stated that it will bring in 150 million new players who will enjoy COD titles going forward. To assure the gamers, the ad features various pictures of different platforms as well, including Nintendo Switch. Here, the “150 million more players” refers to the deal signed by Microsoft with Nintendo and Nvidia.

Interestingly, Microsoft also revealed a dedicated blog, last year, to explain why the Xbox-Activision deal will benefit gamers.
