Cloud gaming is a method of playing video games using remote servers in data centers. As a result, there is no need to download the game. It is essentially a Netflix type of service for games. Previously, this technology has been implemented into Google Stadia, Xbox Game Pass, and PlayStation Now.
Microsoft wants to further build on its cloud gaming features. The company revealed that it is now working on hardware and deals with TV makers which will provide gamers with an Xbox experience without requiring the Xbox itself. They plan on achieving this by embedding the features of the Xbox console into an internet-connected television.
