Thanks to the latest news from a trusted insider and reporter, we now have the information regarding Microsoft’s plans to dive deeper into the arena of cloud gaming. In fact, according to the latest speculation, the company may soon bring a dedicated Xbox device just to play cloud games!

Jez Corden, Editor at the media outlet Windows Central, is known for his consistency when it comes to sharing major updates about video games. Recently, he was interacting with some analysts and experts, discussing the Xbox sales. In between the conversation, he stunned everyone, while revealing there might be a dedicated handheld Xbox device already in development.
Expanding on it further, Corden said that Microsoft may reportedly reveal its handheld console, just for the purpose of cloud gaming. Moreover, this device is expected to be released in Japan and might be called the Series Y.

While elaborating on why such a product would make sense, even if it’s for cloud gaming, he said:
“A lot of the encoding for the video streaming for cloud, some of that’s stored natively on your device. That’s why the PC version of Xcloud tends to have a better image quality than if you just run it through a browser or something else.”

Hence, according to the reporter, a dedicated Xbox handheld will be relevant since it will offer better video streaming. That’s because it will be natively designed purely for that specific objective.
