Microsoft has been highly active lately when it comes to pushing the efforts to seal the deal with Call of Duty publisher. While it’s yet to happen, the Xbox maker is leaving no stone unturned in using all kinds of methods to convince the regulators. Currently, the CMA (Competition and Markets Authority) is the biggest obstacle for the company.

The company has recently submitted a filing to UK’s CMA about what plans it has regarding COD games on Nintendo devices. Talking about the main document itself, Microsoft highlights two key points in order to explain its strategy to make the installments from Activision run on the portable consoles like the Switch. It has focused on free-to-play offerings like Warzone and also buy-to-play titles like Modern Warfare II, while giving certain examples.
Per Microsoft, the engine behind a game like Call of Duty Warzone is optimized to function on a variety of platforms. For example, it can still run well on the 2015’s Xbox One as well as some of the low-end PCs. These hardware products even predate the Nintendo Switch, which was released in the year 2017.
In other words, the Xbox maker has tried to explain that the Switch is capable of running the latest Warzone title (available for mobile devices which are not highly superior to the Switch in terms of specs).
