Amidst all the ongoing speculations, an official Remedy source has hinted at a massive update on the progress of the remake.

Ever since Remedy had announced the plans to remake Max Payne 1 & 2 into a single title through a working contract with Rockstar Games, fans had been looking forward to how the classic’s revival unfolds. However, the progress on the project has remained under the sheets. Until now! The latest business review documents made public post the successful launch of Alan Wake 2 finally addressed the big query on the Max Payne remake!

Remedy optimistic about the lineup after Alan Wake 2 with the Max Payne Remake!

Remedy Entertainment officially released the business review documents and stock listings. The information in detail talked about how Alan Wake 2 reception influences the company’s profile and their next set of visionary projects planned. The highlight of the document was the mention of the Max Payne 1&2 remake and how it has already entered to the production stage. 

Max Payne 1&2 remake progressed into the production readiness stage. We have gained clarity on the style and scope of the game, and we have an exceptionally well-organized team working on it. With these accomplishments, we are excited about the project and its future success,” the source reads.

For most of the fans, this might not come as a huge surprise, as there were a lot of alleged hints Remedy had provided in the last few days on the update. Moreover, a viral theory also claims Alan Wake 2 directly teased the Remake through a character! 

The teases that fans believe hinted at an imminent announcement

All those who have played the survival-horror sequel might be familiar with the character of Alex Casey. Fans suspected that one of the FBI agents who makes an appearance in the sequel could be a tease for the Max Payne remake. James McCaffrey, Max Payne’s “OG” voice actor, also lent his voice to the character Alex Casey. The character also used Sam Lake as the model who has modeled for the character of Max Payne in the debut installment. The viral notion still has enough supporters, despite the fact that there hasn’t been any formal confirmation of it.

Additionally, Remedy’s creative director Sam Lake discussed Alan Wake 2 as a metaphor for the company’s history and future goals in a recent interview. All of these intriguing thoughts appear to fit the fan base now that we have official word on the Max Payne remake.
