Nintendo might have messed up big time with their Switch Online Expansion Pack as fans were already unhappy with the increased pricing for the Switch subscription. The higher tier of the Switch Online Subscription plan dubbed as the Expansion Pack planned on bringing in N64 and Sega Genesis games which have seemed to concur major issues ever since its launch. This time, fans complaint about frame drops with Paper Mario along with severe performance issues. This has enraged many in the Nintendo community, which makes it very evident that the Switch Expansion Pack is a bad deal.

Nintendo fans are disappointed with severe performance issues with N64 games
Truth be told, the emulation of the N64 games via Switch’s Online Expansion Pack hasn’t been perfect since its very start. Players have been complaining about performance issues, which include random frame drops, input lag, and sound delay. This has infuriated the already enraged Nintendo community who were not in line with the revised pricing package for the Expansion Pack. This time, fans complain about Paper Mario 64 which is facing the same issues as mentioned above.

Paper Mario 64 is reportedly facing severe frame drops and performance issues such as input lag, sound and music issues, and button mapping. Nintendo has been quite hesitant all the while to comment on the increased pricing. The Nintendo Boss in America Doug Bowser had also apologized for these severe performance issues with N64 games, but they still seem to persist.
In Paper Mario 64, the frame drops intensify, especially during boss fights. Players in Reddit have also complained about the game crashing during play and have demonstrated these issues through video clips in the r/papermario subreddit. Have a look at it down below.

It is quite intriguing to see how Nintendo is failing to emulate its own N64 games for Switch. Nintendo has been adding new games for the N64 emulator every month and most of the game seems to be running into issues and has severe performance lag. Doug Bowser, as mentioned above, has also stated that the company is constantly taking into account feedback from the community but it hardly seems to be incorporated into the action.
