Assassin’s Creed has been an iconic franchise since its debut in the year 2007. However, the series has witnessed lots of ups and downs in the last decade when it comes to the popularity of its games. Barring few exceptions, not all of them have been able to impress the loyal fans.

However, it seems like Ubisoft is going to please the hardcore lovers of Assassin’s Creed saga with the next game. Going by a massive leak on the internet, it seems like the upcoming entry will return to the roots of what made the franchise memorable originally.
Fans are delighted after knowing the details from the leak for new Assassin’s Creed game
Jason Schreier, who’s a reporter for Bloomberg and a reputed insider, recently shared a crucial information on the brand new entry in the long-running series. While mentioning the title, he wrote that the next Assassin’s Creed game will be called Mirage. That’s according to a source who provided him with the leaked intel.
The story of Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s will be set in Baghdad during the Anarchy in Samarra, between 860 and 870. The game will feature Basim as the main protagonist, who was last seen in Valhalla.
He will be portrayed in his youth, as a thief, before the time of his arrival at Hidden Ones. Per Schreier, as mentioned in the leak, the game will return to the basics while taking inspirations from AC1.
There won’t be any RPG elements present in this offering. For example, there will be no dialogue choices and no leveling system either. However, going by what Jason has emphasized, the latest leak is not fully convincing.
A person familiar tells me parts of this new Assassin's Creed leak are true (such as the name and the other stuff Bloomberg has already reported: spring 23, Baghdad, back to AC basics) and other parts are not ("multiple cities to explore") https://t.co/qmM6UZtKnG

Only the details regarding the name of the game, its setting, a return to the basics, and the release window might be accurate. Rest of the stuff should be taken with a grain of salt. Coming onto the part of the launch, then the leak suggests a time around Spring 2023 for Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
Meanwhile, the fans of the legendary saga wasted no time in dropping their reactions after the leak was revealed. It looks like majority of them are delighted to know the early details on the upcoming title. Especially those, who are excited for the installment’s return to the roots without heavily focusing on the open-world aspect.

I will gladly take and love this. I don’t need another 100 hour game.

I loved Odyssey, Origins, and Valhalla but I will be very happy for a return to a smaller, more focused AC game.
