Puerto Rican-origin Miles Morales is one of the main protagonists in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and a mistake about his heritage has caused a lot of stir among the community.

Insomniac Games faces backlash over flag mix-up

Insomniac Games promised a lot of things with the follow-up title to the 2018 smash-hit Marvel’s Spider-Man. Over the weeks leading up to the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the devs released snippets of the game and fans loved every bit of it. However, since its release, fans have been reporting issues that could’ve been avoided otherwise.

One such issue that garnered a lot of flak from the community can be noticed in Miles’ room in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

While Morales comes from a Puerto Rican background, his legacy is accused of being tarnished by the devs. Social media is firing up as Miles’ room displays a Cuban flag instead of a Puerto Rican one. While the two flags are somewhat similar, this ignorance of detail is something that fans haven’t taken lightly.

Since the community pointed out the mistake, the devs of Insomniac Games have scurried to sort things out. The studio stated that the mistake is being worked on and will be fixed soon. Hopefully, things will be falling into place soon enough and every fan can have the proper experience that the devs initially promised.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 making things emotional

While fans wait for the right flag to be put up on Miles’ wall, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 continues to charm fans with its other offerings. Along with a great plot where both Peter Parker and Miles Morales have their work cut for them, the game also boasts moments that are being lauded for being wholesome. Morales’s interaction with an elderly citizen on a park bench certainly ticks all the right emotional boxes.

Furthermore, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has some brilliant villains who have some serious reasons for being who they are. The game has a lot of potential and based on some of the cutscenes and Ester Eggs, fans can’t wait to see how future content brings more things to look forward to.
