The wait for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is finally over and the players are swinging in. The game introduces Marvel’s iteration of New York, which our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man calls home. Players can expect nothing less than an absolutely stunning game that Insomniac has created for them. While the game explores many amazing features, the one that catches the attention of fans is the suits in the game.
It’s well known by now, that Spider-Man has many dynamic suits. From the Symbiote suit to the one supporting arms like Dr.Octavious, the game has many suits for players to explore. Each comes with special powers and gadgets. In a recent interview with Wired, Bryan Intihar explores many aspects of the game, while touching up on how they decided what suits to include in the game.

During the interview with Wired, Bryan Intihar was answering fan questions and one question had everyone’s attention. One gamer asked, “How do you decide which suits go in the game?” This question had Bryan excited to share his thoughts. To this, he said Insomniac Games consider several factors. The team knows that there are suits that fans really want to see in the game.
Intihar shared, “We talk to Marvel, we talk to our Sony producers, and we get artists to create brand new suits that had never been made before.” He states how suits are unlocked as players progress in the game by reaching a certain hero level and having the necessary resources to craft them. This adds a progression element for players to be able to achieve each suit.
Bryan explains, “Because we have two heroes, we have over 65 suits, and now we wanted to go even bigger with that.” He adds, “So now the majority of suits have what we call ‘suit styles’. There are usually four different suit styles you can unlock for each suit, which means we have over 200 different suits in the game, which is crazy.” He ends the question by making a reference to how players will get to pick suits like they were presented under a Christmas tree and hope they get everything they want.
