Among the many enemies that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 brings in, the main problem seems to be the symbiote. While Harry takes the role of Venom, other characters get their hands on the Symbiote too. For one mission, even Peter Parker used its powers, until it started taking a toll on him.

While Venom is the main user of the Symbiote, there is another infamous villain who is a part of the Spider-verse, Carnage. In other media, Carnage eventually joins forces with Venom. In the new Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, there is a side mission where Peter and the Wraith fight Cletus Kasady. This mission later reveals that Cletus gets his hands on the Symbiote, which raises the question, whether Carnage will be included in the next Insomniac game.

Let There Be Carnage is a side quest in Spider-Man 2. For this quest, players take on The Flame. The quest concludes with Peter Parker and The Wraith confronting The Flame’s henchmen. The Flame successfully executes his true plan despite their efforts. The Flame’s ultimate objective is to obtain the Venom symbiote by derailing an Oscorp train and stealing the sample. This aligns with The Flame’s grand scheme to acquire the symbiote.

The significant plot twist is the revelation of The Flame’s true identity. He is revealed as Cletus Kasady, a well-known character in Spider-Man comics. Cletus is infamous for transforming into the supervillain known as Carnage. The Flame comes with a plan to destroy the city. Being a criminal before getting the Symbiote, Cletus always had ill intentions that were directed towards the law and the people who put him in prison.

In Spider-Man 2, the portrayal of Cletus Kasady’s transformation into Carnage differs from some traditional depictions in the Spidey mythos.

Many versions of the story show Cletus becoming Carnage through his connection with Eddie Brock, the host of Venom, bonding with an offshoot of the symbiote. In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Insomniac has changed the back story of Venom. And so it only makes sense that they work on how Carnage comes into the picture.

The inclusion of Cletus Kasady and the setup for Carnage’s emergence in Spider-Man 2 clearly hint at future Spider-Man content. It is still unknown if Carnage will be a major antagonist in a future DLC or a brand new sequel. The revelation of The Flame’s true identity and the potential arrival of Carnage in the game’s universe set the stage for exciting developments and confrontations in the Spider-Man series. The game’s storyline has yet to disclose the exact nature and timing of Carnage’s involvement. This has left fans eager to witness the unfolding of this plot thread.
