Amidst the Summer Games Fest, top gaming companies spoke about their plans, updates, and upcoming titles. But fans had their eyes on Marvel’s Midnight Suns as Spiderman’s character was limited to a PlayStation exclusive. It had dissatisfied the Xbox fans, as they could not enjoy their favorite fictional hero.

Although, Firaxis Games creative director Jake Solomons soon cleared the confusion at a recent VGC interview. He said that there was never a point where the franchise had opted out of Spiderman’s feature to Xbox. In fact, they had to consider him, as he was one of the prime characters among the avengers. The information was kind of reassuring for Xbox fans as the last Spiderman feature came out five years back.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns will feature some of the most iconic characters across different platforms!
In a recent VGC interview, Firaxis Games creative developer put a stop to the burning question of whether Xbox was getting the Spiderman character. “He’ll be on Xbox, there’s no problem with that”, Solomon said. ‘It’s fun being the first game that’s doing that for a while. Spidey was always a character on the roster and we never got any pushback in any form from Marvel.’
As we all know, Spiderman previously featured on Xbox five years back. Marvel had added his character to the Lego Marvel: Super Heroes 2. Since then, the green console lacked the superhero of New York.

But that does not mean that Xbox users never got another feature, as Fortnite previously collaborated with Marvel to promote their upcoming movie.

What went wrong with the Spiderman feature?
We all know Sony always signs agreements with franchises regarding the use of their characters in video games. A prime example of this is the one with Nintendo, allowing them to feature Spiderman in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3. The game was a grand success as Switch players were satisfied with its release.
Keeping that in mind, we believe that the Sony – Xbox term agreement has ended, ultimately affecting Spiderman’s feature on Xbox.
