Well, the much-awaited first glimpse of ‘Iron Lung’ is out and it looks like a perfect fit to kickstart the Halloween countdown. Popular YouTuber and cinema enthusiast Markiplier had kept his visionary project under the sheets for a while. The first official glimpse is now out and fans are convinced of an ultimate horror showdown. 

The first big revelation around the visionary project Iron Lung was made in August this year. Mark Fischbach aka Markiplier left his fans pleasantly surprised when he announced himself as the director and star of an upcoming feature film. What made the announcement more special is the fact that the project was inspired by a highly underrated indie horror game that’s been enjoyed by horror beef for a while. The latest glimpse testifies to why the buzz around Iron Lung is hot.

The YouTuber finally unveiled his indie-inspired directorial debut through his social media. From the very first look, the feature film seems like a haunting slasher rampage. The narrative of Markiplier’s upcoming Hollywood debut is based on a very underrated independent horror game known by the same title. Markiplier, sharing the teaser on X wrote, “Iron Lung. Coming soon to theaters.”

For those unaware, Iron Lung is a December based 2022 single-player simulation horror that besides making it into the bigger spotlight tier, established a decent fanbase among the genre’s fans. The story revolves around a gripping narrative of a convict exploring the scary mysteries of an ocean filled with blood.

The movie is confirmed to be an official adaptation of the horror game trying to create the world of Iron Lung the video game on an advanced cinematic level. Moreover, the critical acclaim that the source achieved was mostly based on the fascinating narrative of the “Quiet Rapture”. 

The story of the video game 

In a future where humans have colonized space, an occurrence known as “The Quiet Rapture” results in the mysterious disappearance of all stars and habitable planets in the cosmos, leaving only people aboard space stations or starships surviving. The Consolidation of Iron (COI) sends an expedition to AT-5, a barren moon that has lately produced a vast ocean of human blood, in an effort to ensure the survival of humanity. 

AT-5 is said to contain the essential materials that are so sorely needed to preserve human life. A miniature submarine formally known as SM-13 and dubbed the “Iron Lung” is used to transport the player character through the blood ocean’s crevasses. In the story that follows, the players are responsible for cracking the mysteries that are buried under the ocean with the help of the destructured submarine. 

Based on the source’s storyline, fans are certain that the Markiplier debut will be full of surprises. We would have to wait for the next big update on the film’s release schedule.
