Call of Duty Modern Warfare II is soon going to witness the end of its life cycle this fall. And when it does, the next major installment will continue to keep the fans entertained by offering an immersive experience.
While there’s still time for Call of Duty 2023 to make its way, Activision has ensured that players remain hyped for this year’s anticipated entry, no matter what. And what better than to unleash small glimpses to generate buzz? Well, the makers just did exactly that while dropping the official logo for Modern Warfare III – the new premium game in the franchise.

Out of nowhere, Activision dropped a 41-second clip on Monday. As suggested by rumors and leaks, it had Task Force 141 leader Captain Price. In the clip, one can hear his words, mentioning a new enemy – or in this case, a familiar face. Some of the lines are taken from MWII’s climax scene from the single-player Campaign last year. In that scene, Price told other TF 141 members about a familiar face who will make a comeback after more than a decade.
Well, this man is none other than Makarov himself – the arch-nemesis of Task Force 141. Apart from revealing the official logo of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, the video also reveals Makarov’s face. Although it’s a brief glimpse, one can easily figure out that it’s him. “Never bury your enemies alive”, says the antagonist before the clip cuts to the release date of MWIII.

Moreover, just a day after unleashing the logo, Activision has also confirmed yet another rumored detail. All the speculations were absolutely correct regarding this specific intel. The reveal event for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is, indeed, taking place on August 17 in Warzone. The official Twitter account of the franchise shared this crucial information on social media.

Get to know the team behind Call of Duty 2023
As of now, it’s very clear that Sledgehammer Games is the leading studio behind Call of Duty 2023. Putting all the speculations to rest, the developer recently confirmed this news by posting the official logo clip for Modern Warfare III.

Although the studio has got a poor record with recent entries like Vanguard, it will try to leave that in the past. Just in case anyone wasn’t keeping track of past events, Sledgehammer was also involved in the making of 2011’s original Modern Warfare 3. In a way, this is a full-circle moment for the studio.
Certain team members of the studio have also begun hyping up the awaited project now. On social media, Shelby Carlton, a game writer at Sledgehammer, recently shared a tweet expressing her excitement. “Writing on Modern Warfare III is one of those things child me would have simply not believed”, she wrote. It seems like she’s part of the team working on the Campaign story.
Writing on Modern Warfare III is one of those things child me would have simply not believed… But she would be (and is!) so INCREDIBLY proud and excited for what's to come ❤️ https://t.co/sGkzwfdMg7

Similarly, another writer took to Twitter to share her feelings about working on the story for MWIII. Ash Poprik, who’s from High Moon Studios, mentioned that she’s a writer on the upcoming title. “Our team has been working INCREDIBLY hard to make this game truly memorable. Can’t want to show you more of what we’ve been cooking up!” Seeing High Moon Studios contributing to the storyline is quite surprising, to say the least.
🔥 Incredibly excited to announce I am a writer on Modern Warfare: III. Our team has been working INCREDIBLY hard to make this game truly memorable. Can't want to show you more of what we've been cooking up! https://t.co/6ZknsKnPJV
