The Japanese gaming giant Nintendo has recently released its financial statement for the third quarter of the fiscal year, and the figures aren’t as remarkable as some might have hoped. Switch sales are down from 24.10 million units in 2021 to 18.95 million in the year 2022, which is a downfall of 21.4%.
But despite their Switch’s sales being down, Nintendo is doing pretty well. This is primarily due to the craze for Pokemon and Mario,
The Pokemon and Mario games have shown tremendous growth over the past year. The Nintendo software division has witnessed a growth of around 2% since 2021. Their software business sales have increased from around 176.10 million in 2021 to 179.29 million in the year 2022.

There’re three games that are contributing to Nintendo doing well, and they are Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/ Pokémon Shining Pearl, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Mario Party Super Stars.

- Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/ Pokémon Shining Pearl- 13.97 million units sold
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe- 7.96 million units sold
- Mario Party Super Stars- 5.43 million units sold
These are the three games that have overall boosted the entire sales of the company’s software business.

Nintendo doing not that bad

In terms of its users, Nintendo has successfully added millions of playing users. The company has added around 18 million new users between 2020 and 2021.
