Mario Kart, Animal Crossing and Zelda Classics Earn Contrasting Sales Fortunes

Nintendo is having a golden run this year and there’s no doubt about it. According to a new report, one of its apex hits in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons recently emerged among the top sellers in Japan.

In fact, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe succeeded in selling a large number of copies to clinch a position as one of the top three selling titles in the region.

Although Nintendo generally performs quite well across the globe, witnessing a boost in its country of origin is always something special. Talking about the best-selling titles in the Asian nation, then Kirby and the Forgotten Land was on the first spot. However, it witnessed a drop of 70.81 percent in sales for the period between March 28 and April 3, 2022.

Speaking of the rising games from Nintendo, then Mario Kart 8 Deluxe really saw a huge boost in its sales. In fact, it clinched the second rank in the list of ten best sellers; the racing kart game grew by 4.39 percent.

There were other Nintendo blockbusters as well on the list with the likes of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Animal Crossing: New Horizons. While Zelda witnessed a rise in its sales by 9.88 percent, ACNH had a drop of 2.66 percent. They both featured on the eighth and ninth positions respectively.
