Microsoft’s Phil Spencer has been hard at work trying to make Xbox a more approachable platform than Sony’s PlayStation or Nintendo Switch. They introduced Xbox Game Pass, then PC Game Pass. After all this, came cloud gaming.

This brought a huge AAA catalog to everyone’s phones, at no extra cost other than a monthly Game Pass subscription. But console prices were a concern. However, Xbox is on the higher ground now as their smart move for Black Friday is definitely set to win many fans’ hearts.
Xbox is leaving behind Sony this Black Friday with this offer!
When Sony announced a while ago that they would have to increase the price of PlayStation 5 by $50, everyone panicked. People were wondering why this was happening and some had one small question in their minds: is Xbox next? But Phil Spencer specifically said that Microsoft is not planning to increase the price of Xbox consoles. This might happen in the future, but for now, there were no plans to do so.
So, what has transpired is that this Black Friday, instead of a price increase, Xbox Series S is being sold at a discount of $50. Series S, instead of its regular price of $300, is being sold at $249.99. And it can be purchased at this price from Best Buy, Target, and Even Microsoft’s own store. And it’s a very good deal indeed, a current-gen console at a low price of $249.99.
And fans all over Twitter are pretty excited about this deal!
Microsoft said it wouldn't raise Xbox console prices over the holidays, so it's cutting them for the holidays instead. Starting today, the Xbox Series S is now $249.99 for Black Friday and it even ships with holiday-themed packaging. Details here: https://t.co/fEUoXL7jcE

The Series S is an extremely powerful and underrated console. I don’t use discs, so it works.

The Series S has lived beyond its expectations, despite being low on specs
Xbox Series S launched in November 2020 along with its big brother, Xbox Series X. In terms of specs, both of them share a lot of similarities. Even though Xbox Series X is clearly more powerful and more targeted at gamers looking to play in 4k or 1440p, Series S due to its lower GPU power is targeted at a consumer base that is more casual and is looking for a console to play either on a 1440p or 1080P screen. Other than that, its compact size also makes it very easy to carry, so people interested can always buy it as a secondary console.
Xbox Series S is also missing a disc drive and Microsoft sells it to people whom they want to push towards their Game Pass service. In the end, it’s a very smart-looking little console, loaded with an SSD and an RDNA-capable chip. Anyone looking for a console to do some casual gaming now and then should definitely pick one up.
