Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is not getting remastered

Reports from within the community suggest that there isn’t any info about the remastered version of Modern Warfare 2.

This legendary title is still regarded as one of the greatest games ever made. As a part of the legendary trilogy of the original Modern Warfare franchise, fans just can’t seem to let go of the good old days.

The studio has thus far remastered the first iteration of the olden franchise and the community has been clamoring for the return of Modern Warfare 2. However, one member of the community has stated that Activision has canceled its plans to take up that project.

Does this mean it is the end of the road for Modern Warfare 2? It seems highly unlikely as these projects could get picked up in the near future. Currently, Activision is focused on producing newer titles along with the standalone Battle Royale game in Warzone. The merger of these games with the Battle Royale title often brings out ground-breaking changes.

Right now, Raven software is actively working on producing a brand new Pacific-themed map for Warzone. This map will replace Verdansk at the beginning of Season 1. The studio follows this pattern, over the course of 1 year, and releases new content routinely. Safe to say, remastered titles aren’t on the priority list for Activision anytime soon.
