First announced in January 2021, the Indiana Jones game has been in development for over a year now. While the gaming adaptation is yet to come out, the excitement for the overall series has already increased, thanks to a recent trailer for a brand new film in the long-running cinematic franchise.

Coming back to the game, then it’s going through a great development phase, according to Todd Howard, who is Bethesda’s director. Recently, he revealed how the developing team of MachineGames was handling the Indiana Jones gaming project. And going by his response, everything seems to be going well.

The Bethesda director is serving as an executive producer on this title. A few days back, he appeared on the Lex Fridman Podcast, where he talked in-depth about all the projects in development at Bethesda. In the interview, which ran for over two and a half hours, Mr. Howard also mentioned several interesting details regarding the in-development Indiana Jones from MachineGames.

When the host asked him whether it will have an action-adventure side to it, like the movies, Todd replied by saying that it will be “a unique mesh-up”. “It is a unique, it isn’t one thing intentionally, so it does a lot of different thing,” he said.

Moreover, Todd Howard also revealed that Raiders of the Lost Ark is his favorite film in the Indiana Jones saga. Adding to that, he presented his thoughts on the upcoming game, saying that “it is a definite love letter to Indiana Jones and everything with it.”

While fans will have to wait longer for the game, the series will keep them thoroughly entertained in the meantime with a fresh movie installment. Because Indiana Jones and The Dial of Destiny is set to arrive next year on June 30. Being the fifth movie in the franchise, it will once again bring back Harrison Ford in his beloved role. He’s portrayed the famous character for over 40 years now.

Talking more about the new movie, then it’s directed by James Mangold. Apart from Harrison Ford, the film will also feature Johny Rhys-Davies, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Antonio Banderas, and Toby Jones, among others. As for the game based on the franchise, it’s still in development.
