Luigi’s Mansion series is the odd one out of all of Nintendo’s franchises. It’s a very humorous horror game that stars none other than Mario’s scared younger brother, Luigi. These games star Luigi as a ghost catcher who goes to a creepy location on a mission to save his kidnapped brother.

This series has seen three installments over the year, with the last one released recently for the Nintendo Switch. And that game was doubtless immensely successful. It looked pretty good for a Nintendo Switch game; some even compared it to those very good-looking CGI movies.

But many might not be aware that this series started on the GameCube as an experimental title, but ended up being a cult hit. Years later, a sequel was released, but for a handheld console, the Nintendo 3DS. This game naturally became a success, as ardent fans were waiting for this sequel to launch.

Nintendo did not stop there; they remade the prequel Luigi’s Mansion 1 for the Nintendo 3DS. This was a complete remake made with Nintendo 3DS in mind. That is what Nintendo is bringing to the Switch, they are upscaling the 3DS sequel to HD and bringing it to their current generation of consoles.
