For those who don’t know what happened, the most-subscribed Twitch streamer confronted a moderator during a recent livestream. The 20-year-old revealed one of his mods wrongfully blocked viewers and later asked for money to unblock them. Kai was furious at his moderators for this, but the accused mod claimed to do this because he didn’t get paid.
Ludwig shares his thoughts on paying moderators
Ludwig released a video on his Mogul Mail YouTube channel. He shared there are millions of streamers, but the majority of them won’t be able to pay their moderators. But he also added the elite streamers on the multiple streaming platforms can pay their moderators. The 27-year-old started paying his mods after the first subathon.
The YouTuber further explains that moderators can sometimes help with many other things. He explained how his mods helped him a lot during his subathon. Ludwig then shared his reasons behind that act, saying, “It’s cool, part of that feeling of making sure you ride with the ones that got you there. Making sure that everybody eats around you. It feels amazing.”
He then answered why big streamers should pay their mods, “I think any time someone’s doing a good job at something, you want them to keep doing that. And you also want to feel happy and be happy doing that.” He also revealed his past as a moderator and claimed it to be a “thankless job.”
Why is paying moderators not so simple?
Ahead in the video, Ludwig reacts to a video where Twitch elites xQc and Kai Cenat discuss whether moderators should be paid or not. xQc revealed he could pay his mods but doesn’t do so, as things between them can get “dramatic.” Ludwig agreed with what the Canadian streamer told Cenat.

Ludwig explained the meaning behind xQc’s statement, “One, it will be very hard after you start paying mods to get any new mods. Because the mods you start to sign up for the job from the passion of it are usually more honest and better mods than ones who would do it because there’s money.”
