GTA 6 has been trending online ever since Rockstar’s team announced the much-awaited news regarding its trailer. While the trailer is set for a December release, fans have been busy speculating about the story and characters. Speaking of the latter, the rumored protagonist, Lucia, has undoubtedly kept most of them buzzing about how her role will fit in the lore of Grand Theft Auto universe. But now, an insider has presented a new speculation about Lucia.

The insider believes that Rockstar might end up changing the identity of this female character altogether. Interestingly, the main reason for this possibility is the leaks from last year. They allegedly revealed a lot of gameplay footage from an in-development version of the next Grand Theft Auto.

Lucia might not be the female character’s name in GTA 6

For the uninitiated, an individual had leaked tons of content about the game’s two leading characters. While the one was a male, the other one was a female. Later, several reports claimed that they will be named Jason and Lucia, respectively. Further, players are almost certain that the title will focus on their relationship. But everything that got leaked last year may not end up making it to the final release, going by an insider’s theory.

Gaming Detective, who’s a popular scooper on X (formerly Twitter), recently shared a post where he wrote that many amazing features unleashed by the leaked GTA 6 clips might get removed by the time the game comes out. And that the changes may include “the names and stories of Jason and Lucia.”

The female lead’s name may not be Lucia after all. However, nothing is confirmed as of now. But that doesn’t mean the game will not have two protagonists. Their appearances, leaked by the videos, may also get changed in the final version. Currently, there are just so many things revolving around the upcoming title that fans may get confused about. Surely, the upcoming trailer will answer a lot of questions.

What’s the main story of the next Grand Theft Auto?

While fans still continue to wait for official details, the devs haven’t shared much. They don’t want to spill the beans before the right time arrives. Thankfully, we do know that there’s an exclusive trailer coming soon. The news was recently revealed by Rockstar’s co-founder and president Sam Houser.

At the moment, the only thing known, that too by a leak, is that the game may include a female protagonist for the first time in the iconic franchise. Beyond this rumor, there’s no other detail available as of now.
