RPG fans had a great time with CI Games‘ Lords of the Fallen. And why wouldn’t that be? Since this action-based role-playing game debuted this October, players loved its melee weapons to character customization in the game. Thanks to developers Hexworks, who sincerely invested a great amount of hard work in the game. And now with the title’s budget being released, fans totally understand the deal developers and publishers put forward.

Games are definitely costlier these days in terms of development costs. From the CI Games’ own crowd-funded project Star Citizen to Starfield, all these titles showed how money is nothing but salt grains to create something great in Esports. And now Lords of the Fallen has definitely given quite a proof of that.

Lords of the Fallen is CI Games’ most expensive title

Players had only 12 days to explore Lords of the Fallen. And despite some technical faults, the game seemed unbelievably amazing to the fans. However, what stunned fans the most was Cloud Imperium Games/ CI Games’ CFO’s recent reveal about the title’s total production and marketing cost. David Broderick, CFO of CI Games said that the company invested $66.6 million in Lords of the Fallen.

In fact, with this budget, CI Games’ latest title becomes the most expensive project by the company to date. Broderick confirmed that the team spent $42.2 million on the development of the game and $19.3 million on its marketing. Along with that, the team spent $5.1 million to release the game’s physical copies. Surprised much?

Now that the CI Games’ CFO revealed this budget, Lords of the Fallen appears to be the most expensive production by the company. However, Broderick also mentioned how the game’s marketing cost is not only limited to its launch campaign. But this money takes care of the franchise’s development in the future with its brand recognition. Now that the game sold over 1 million copies within ten days, it looks like the makers of the title are satisfied with the hard work.

Exploring Lords of the Fallen universe

Developed by Hexworks, Lords of the Fallen is an action RPG offering soulslike elements in the gameplay, especially for combat mechanisms. Like its previous title, Lords of the Fallen offers various melee weapons and magic for players to defeat their enemies. Played from the third-person perspective, Lords of the Fallen has PvP multiplayer mode with options to explore the game’s campaign mode with another player cooperatively. Additionally, there are options to create and customize your own character from the existing nine classes in the gameplay.

Lords of the Fallen is a massive game compared to its predecessor. Developed on Unreal Engine 5, the game’s visuals are truly marvelous. Lords of the Fallen is available on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox X/S Series. Magic and action lovers can try this game out for more exciting entertainment.
