The brand new trailer of the Highly anticipated game by Warner Bros. Interactive, Hogwarts Legacy, set in the world of J.K. Rowling’s renowned novel series, Harry Potter, promises a world filled with a new magical experience that was “unwritten” in the source materials. A world filled with magic and spectacles is almost on the horizon. 

The newly launched 4K cinematic trailer of the game showed what fans can expect from the game releasing in February. The trailer showcased a world filled with magical beasts, terrifying monsters, evil villains, and cute messenger owls. It also revealed a surprise that fans weren’t expecting as well as some familiar faces. 

A surprise reveal in the new Hogwarts Legacy trailer 

The trailer opened with a letter carried by a bubbly eyed owl, with a mission to find the soon-to-be wizard (the player). In his journey to find the fated individual, they journey across the Castle of the iconic Hogwarts School and proceed to give a tease of the vast Overworld that will be the main selling point of the game.

On their journey, the Owl encounters some students fighting a hoard of giant Spiders; shady characters in masks trying to forcefully tame the majestic Griffin and throwing the lethal Avada Kadavra; there’s also a massive dragon that almost roasted our winged friend. The trailer also showed familiar characters such as the friendly ghost of Nearly Headless Nick. The tagline of the trailer was, “Live the Unwritten”.

But the most fascinating surprise by far was the introduction of a teacher named Weasly. One of the main characters of the book, Ron, belonged to the family of Weasly. He had six siblings: Bill, Charlie, Percy, identical twins Fred and George, and Ginny. By the end of the main story, Ron married one of the other main leads, Hermione Granger, and Ginny married the main protagonist of the series, Harry Potter. 

So it will be interesting to figure out who this certain Weasly is. Are they the children of Ron and Hermione or are they one of his ancestors? As the game follows an original story, the possibilities are endless. It is also speculated that the game is based on an alternate timeline, which means this Weasly can be completely unrelated to Ron or his family.
