Julian Kostov is Vladimir Makarov in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and fans are already hyped

In case anyone missed keeping track of events, the Bulgarian actor has been reportedly revealed as the face of the popular villain. In the original MW trilogy, Roman Varshavsky portrayed this brutal personality. It was more than a decade ago. Now, the character is coming back to wreak havoc. Julian Kostov is the man who will step into his shoes this time.

One can also call it the Joker moment from DC’s superhero movies. In the late 80s, the menacing villain became iconic due to Jack Nicholson’s performance. But then, Heath Ledger’s memorable take on the ‘Clown Prince of Crime’, in 2008, made him immortal – quite literally. It will be interesting to see whether Julian’s portrayal can do justice to Makarov or not. Especially, after considering Varshavsky’s unforgettable performance from a decade ago.

However, it seems like fans have got full faith in Julian Kostov. At least that’s what one can say by looking at their reactions on social media. Recently, franchise lovers expressed their early impressions of the actor. According to most of them, it appears that he will do justice to Makarov’s role. In fact, some people believe that he’s “literally perfect for the role”.

Moreover, there are some fans who are even comparing him with an already-established Call of Duty actor Barry Sloane. The latter plays Captain Price in the rebooted Modern Warfare sub-series. Since his debut in 2019, he has imbibed the character in a way that most people now see him as the leader of Task Force 141 in real life.

Then, there are those who are simply hopeful and want Julian to deliver a charismatic performance. But at the same time, they know that he has a lot to live up to.
