In a surprise move, development for Modern Warfare III is under Sledgehammer instead of Infinity Ward. This is because Sledgehammer served in assisting roles to Infinity Ward for Modern Warfare I and II.

It knows Infinity Ward’s direction with the last two games, working with the former in an assisting role. Moreover, Sledgehammer worked on Modern Warfare 3 in 2011 alongside Infinity Ward.
