Very recently, Nintendo and Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma decided to give fans a new look at their upcoming anticipated title, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Everybody waiting for this game were treated to 10 minutes of unadulterated footage of Link exploring Hyrule.

They showed new abilities for Link and the game’s unique crafting system. It appears Nintendo has really thought through a bunch of things while developing this game. But some fans were not very convinced with what they were shown, and they are left wondering if this upcoming content is nothing but a glorified DLC to Breath of the Wild.

Is The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom a glorified DLC for Breath of the Wild?

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild changed the gaming industry; it gave everyone a look at an open world that was truly limitless. A world full of possibilities; a world full of ideas waiting to be realized. And it was successful, as it deserved to be so. Fans loved that game, making it one of the most successful games Nintendo ever made.

Nintendo was quick to launch an Expansion Pass for this game; it featured a bunch of challenge dungeons and some costumes, and they were also in the process of developing some more DLCs for it. But those DLCs grew so much in size that Nintendo decided to shape a sequel out of those ideas. That became Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

And it appears some fans were reminded of this fact when they saw this recent gameplay footage. They stated that it does not have enough content to be called a sequel. They have been asking Nintendo to show more to be convinced to buy this upcoming title. It has to be seen how Nintendo reacts to this uproar.

There are even chances that Nintendo and Aonuma decided not to show much in order to prevent any spoilers. There are a bunch that a recent leak was talking about. It talked about a new crafting system as well as massive underground levels and some roguelike elements.

And it’s not as if expanded DLCs cannot make good sequels; Saints Row 4 is a glaring example of this. Similar claims were also being made about God of War: Ragnarok post-launch; people were calling it a glorified DLC. It debunked all the claims when it launched; let’s see if Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom meets a similar fate.
