Since its global debut, Activision’s newest offering in Call of Duty Modern Warfare II has gone through a miserable phase. Although it has broken sales milestones, there have been tons of issues as well when it comes to what it has offered to the community. A lot of players have been very vocal about the overall experience they have had so far. For those who are loyal fans, COD is not appearing to be the same as it was a few years ago.

The change in the approach by devs has resulted in a deterioration of quality experience for die-hard Call of Duty fans. As a result, many renowned players have also recently expressed frustration towards the overall series. Popular gaming YouTuber, Tom is also not quite happy with the franchise and how the makers are currently handling it.

Tom ‘Syndicate’ slams devs for letting down the Call of Duty series

For anyone who knows about COD must be familiar with Thomas George Cassell a.k.a Syndicate. He’s been an active player of the series, along with a few other games, for more than a decade now. In 2010, he started his channel called TheSyndicateProject which went on to gain phenomenal viewership. Apart from YouTube, Tom also has a large fanbase on Twitch where he streams gameplay videos with commentary. So whenever he shares any thoughts, they prove to be quite relevant for all gaming lovers.

Recently, Tom took to Twitter to express his brutally honest opinions about what Call of Duty has become now. The YouTuber wrote that the series used to be his first love as a kid when he began playing its titles. “At least back then you knew how to carry a game and a franchise… but now all you care about is money not gameplay. YOU FAILED.” read the tweet.

Tom criticized the devs at Activision, including Treyarch, for not doing anything substantial to keep the franchise running and appealing.

He mentioned that he now plays other games like Fortnite due to Call of Duty getting ruined.

Most importantly, he slammed the makers for having an approach focusing on money rather than gameplay. And that’s why he thinks it’s an embarrassing situation for the entire IP right now.
