It is always a treat for the gaming community to watch your favorite title acing the silver screen. “The Super Mario Bros. The Movie” earlier this year made a box office collection of over a billion dollars. Following the massive success of Super Mario’s animated flick, Nintendo expressed its interest in turning other giant titles into a movie. Post the revelation by Nintendo, the fans started manifesting an animated film of one widely celebrated title, “The Legend Of Zelda”.
While a “Super Mario Bros. Movie” sequel is covertly being created, there have been constant rumors of the possibility of the Legend of Zelda Movie getting the theatric spotlight. Amidst all these rumors, a statement from the rumored makers themselves might not be good news for the fans. Chris Melendandri the founder and CEO of Illumination and the producer of all the Nintendo’s animated collaborations has given a statement that puts out the fire and hype around the movie.

Nintendo’s collaboration with the makers of giant animation hits like “Sing” and “Despicable Me” was celebrated all over the community. The fans were not let down by the partnership’s auspicious release this year. Eventually, fans couldn’t stop the excitement after the rumors of Legend Of Zelda being under development for the next feature surfaced. Terminating all the rumors, Chris Melendandri addressed the fans on the title’s future on the silver screen.

In an interview at the International Animation Festival, the founder quoted, “I don’t know where that came from. I mean I can understand how people would surmise all sorts of things because obviously, we’ve had a great experience working together. My relationship with Nintendo now includes being on their board of directors, so I understand how people can surmise these things. But in terms of the specifics, that was just something that I’ve been hearing lots of reports. This is just about what’s next between Nintendo and Illumination.”
Although the founder further went on to confirm that the successful partnership of his company with Nintendo would go on even beyond the developing sequel of Super Mario’s sequel.
