Internet darling Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys announced the expiration of her Twitch contract on January 31. The streamer didn’t offer any hints regarding a potential shift to another platform or if she planned to stick to the purple platform. But after days of speculation, fans finally have an answer.

In a post on her official Twitter handle, @pokimanelol, the content creator announced both her platform of choice and a very enticing giveaway for the fans who have supported her in her journey.

While the post is great news for some fans, others aren’t too pleased.

In a tweet that went up on Thursday, February 9, Anys took a page out of Valkyrae‘s book as she too went for a simple announcement as opposed to a Ludwig-style cinematic reveal. Pokimane didn’t forget to take a dig on Ludwig’s YouTube announcement video from earlier either, as her tweet says:

“Instead of choosing between a red or purple car, I’M GIVING ONE AWAY”

In a very nonchalant manner, Anys revealed what fans have been speculating about for days. Her streaming platform going forth will continue to be Twitch. This isn’t surprising, as Pokimane has seen meteoric growth on the purple platform since her heyday back in 2013. Currently sitting with over 8.9 million followers on Twitch, she is the most followed female streamer on the platform.

Additionally, the announcement came with its own giveaway. The sudden giveaway was perhaps the most surprising part of the post for many.

And it has got fans thrilled about the possibility of getting their hands on a shiny new Tesla. Just “leave it to Miss Pokimane.”

But all is not well in the Poki land, and dissenters are making themselves heard.

Notably, people seem divided over the giveaway. But one thing is for sure, Pokimane returning to Twitch means fans can look forward to seeing more of the regular programming they love.
