In a leak surfacing online, the full email conversation between Jim Ryan and Chris Deering came in front of the public eye. Earlier, only the redacted version of this conversation was present online.

Both of them did not look worried about the deal materializing. Ryan even went on to say, “I’m pretty sure we will continue to see COD on PS for many years to come. We have some good stuff cooking”. Deering also replied, “If it was an Xbox exclusivity play, Spencer could have locked up MS console exclusivity for the next 3 COD releases.”

With these thoughts, the two Sony higher-ups believed Microsoft Xbox was not targeting exclusivity play but was focusing on the mobile industry. Deering was even confident this deal would not affect PlayStation in any way. He said, “I am not losing a wink of sleep over the future”. However, he did not stop there and took another jab at the $68.7 billion Activision Blizzard deal. “They would have been better off announcing a new electric car,” he said.
