Activision’s preparations for this year’s Call of Duty are running in full speed at the moment. Following the recent announcement with an official logo reveal and a trailer, the upcoming game has generated huge buzz online. While the hype was already there, thanks to early leaks, it has increased a lot in the last week.
However, the controversy and confusion surrounding its pricing has made fans frustrated. Especially, after a leaked intel revealed that Modern Warfare III might cost just $36 – almost half the price of the existing game, MWII. The reason for this possibility is that it’s believed to be a DLC instead of being a standalone, new premium in its entirety. Well, this might be true after all, considering a massive update leaked online.

Industry insider Tom Henderson recently shared a major piece of information on his website. As always, he dropped a leaked detail which was related to this year’s MWIII. In his article on Insider Gaming, the trusted scooper mentioned that CoD 2023 is actually nothing more than a DLC for Modern Warfare II.
Henderson, in collaboration with Twitter account PlayStationSize, reached to the conclusion that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is a DLC indeed. The interpretation is based on a leaked beta game code for the upcoming installment.
Per the scooper, Beta codes for Modern Warfare III have a similar concept ID like 2022’s MWII. In other words, they are codes from last year only, but reissued. Furthermore, the leaked code also suggests that MWII, the current game, will soon change to Call of Duty Hub. In short, MWIII, Modern Warfare II, and Warzone will be displayed inside a single menu.
