Baldur’s Gate 3 is a complex game to play, and behind the curtains, it’s even more complex to run. This fact has been made very clear by the fact that it was in early access for close to four years before making it to version 1.0. And now that it’s in version 1.0, its third act is somewhat dodgy.
Due to all the choices and characters involved and its complex AI, this game is especially hard on the processor of the device it is running on. And yet, a leaker has suggested that Baldur’s Gate 3 is making its way to the Nintendo Switch.

When Baldur’s Gate 3 launched back in August, no one expected it to be as good and successful as it turned out to be. The game was so good that it opened the doors leading to the world of CRPGs for players who had never even tried a game like this. It was only launched for PC, though, and it had a PS5 launch set for September 6.

Now the reason why this game’s Xbox release was missing from the announcement back then is that the developers have been trying for a very long time to make offline co-op work on Series S. And this is why it’s hard to believe the leaker who says this game is coming to the Nintendo Switch.
That has changed recently; Xbox CEO Phil Spencer allowed them to exclude that feature from the Series S version. But the Nintendo Switch is not even half as powerful as the Series S. It’s hard to believe that Baldur’s Gate 3 is coming to the Nintendo Switch, even if a longtime Nintendo employee is in credits of the game. The guy is Etsushi Iizuka, who is often involved in Nintendo Switch ports of third-party games.

But if it turns out to be true, and if we get this game for Switch, it would look way worse than The Witcher 3. And it would perform worse than Arc Ark Survival evolved on Switch.
Could it be in development for the Nintendo Switch 2?
There’s a high chance that this game might just be in development for Nintendo’s upcoming console, Switch 2. It has been discussed online numerous times that it’s a very powerful device. Leaked specs even suggest that it goes way beyond the Xbox Series S when it comes to raw horsepower.

It would not be a surprise if that game was actually planned for the Nintendo Switch 2. We would have to see how this goes; all this can only be confirmed once Switch 2 is actually announced.
