After Aaron Greenberg, GM of Xbox Games Marketing, cleared out the air around the Starfield exclusivity rumors, there’s more to come for Bethesda fans. Unfortunately, keeping in line with Starfield’s ideas, Elder Scrolls 6 is planned to be an exclusive as well.

Renowned journalist Jeff Grubb earlier last week confirmed Microsoft’s plans for the latest Elder Scrolls sequel. And for now, PlayStation owners will not be returning to Tamriel anytime soon.

Elder Scrolls 6: Everything you need to know about Bethesda’s plans

Senior Vice President of Global Marketing at Bethesda, Pete Hines while talking about Starfield during the Bethesda Gamescom Stream 2021 said, “it was announced as a thing that’s an Xbox exclusive, I don’t know if I would go so far as to say you’re done ever playing stuff on PlayStation. But again, I don’t know the answer to that right now,” which many believed was an indication at a late PlayStation launch for the title. As fans know, this was completely false, and all hopes were lost when Greenberg himself denied any such plans.

Adding to the ongoing talks on Twitter about Bethesda’s titles, Esports journalist, Jeff Grubb said, “No. And also Elder Scrolls 6 is planned as Xbox exclusive as well.”.

This news adds another nail to the coffin for Bethesda fans wanting a PlayStation release for the upcoming titles. Both Starfield and Elder Scrolls 6 will launch on the Xbox Series X|S and PC via the Game Pass. Even though Xbox One is still functional, it doesn’t look like the console will get its own version of the games.

Although various sources suggest that Elder Scrolls 6 will be exclusive, there hasn’t been any official announcement yet. So fans still have something to hold on to; keeping their fingers crossed until the last minute.

Many even questioned the developers’ decision on making Starfield exclusive to a console that has sold half the number of consoles compared to the PlayStation 5. What are your thoughts on Elder Scrolls releasing strictly on Xbox?
