Latest PlayStation 5 patch

The latest PlayStation 5 patch includes things such as much-needed system performance improvements. While the notes just state general stability improvements, players might just find hidden updates and improvements as well.

One of the improvements observed in the last update which was released way back in September is support for  M.2 SSDs.  This allows the player to insert it into the console’s expansion slot.  It also brought support for 3D audio support for TV speakers.

The last update also included an improvement in the audio titles of some games including  3D audio for headphones.  Another much-needed update that arrived was removing the notification whenever a player captures a screenshot.

The PlayStation 5 has immense graphical capabilities. Exclusives such as God of War and Horizon: Zero Dawn are extremely cinematic. Players put in a lot of grueling effort to capture these magnificent moments of art.

The presence of a notification often hinders the immersion and acts as a blotch on the player’s creativity. Before the update went live, a small icon would come in notifying the player that they have taken a screenshot.

This would occur due to the fact that the Operating System of the console did not differentiate between the user interface of the Operating System and that of the game, leading to the error. However, in the September patch itself players noticed that they now had the option of disabling the notification whenever they capture images on the console.

These initiatives taken by Sony bode quite well with the community. It shows that Sony is actually listening to the problems of the community and the players. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why the PlayStation 5 has become the fastest-selling console ever.
